People Working on the DOPPS

The DOPPS is coordinated by the Arbor Research Collaborative for Health (Arbor Research) in collaboration with investigators in each of the DOPPS countries (Australia, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, New Zealand, Spain, Sweden, the United Kingdom, and the United States). Arbor Research is a non-profit organization, located in Ann Arbor, Michigan, focused on conducting health-outcomes research utilizing a multidisciplinary approach with expertise in epidemiology, biostatistics, medicine, and health economics.

  • DOPPS Steering Committee (DSC): The Arbor Research Amgen Study Coordinating Committee provides oversight for the study and guidance on the DOPPS research and publications.
  • DOPPS Coordinating Center (DCC): The project team members of the DOPPS Coordinating Center manage the daily operations of the DOPPS. Overseeing the data collection worldwide, project team members recruit new facilities and work to ensure successful data collection at participating facilities.
  • DOPPS Country Investigators: Representing a panel of experts in nephrology in each of our DOPPS countries, Investigators provide country specific guidance for DOPPS researchers and data collectors.
  • DOPPS Task Forces: Task Forces provide the DCC with ongoing scientific input and feedback in eight specific research priority areas: Anemia, Cardiovascular Disease, Diabetes & Nutrition, Dialysis Prescription and Practice, Health Economics and Policy, Mineral Bone Disease, Patient Centered Care & Quality of Life, and Vascular Access.
  • DOPPS Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC): The Scientific Advisory Committee draws its members from Arbor Research investigators, DOPPS Country Investigators and Task Force members, as well as other opinion leaders, and study sponsors. It identifies novel study questions of interest, provides recommendations for new data collection, and renders professional input to maximize the value of DOPPS.

The DOPPS is supported by scientific research grants from Amgen (since 1996), Kyowa Hakko Kirin (since 1999, in Japan), Genzyme (since 2009), and Abbott (since 2009) without restrictions on publications.

Coordinated by research scientists and staff of Arbor Research Collaborative for Health, and supported by research grants from Amgen (since 1996), Kyowa Hakko Kirin (since 1999, in Japan), Genzyme (since 2009), and Abbott (since 2009) without restrictions on publications.
